Report Cards will go home on Thursday, March 23, 2017

 

A flyer for those who are a part of SNAP program will go home with report cards. For more information see the announcement on the BHS website.

 

Congratulations to our Golf team! Defeated Loyd Star and Natchez in a 9 hole match yesterday (3/20). Xavier Lilly earned the BHS low score medal.

 

5th Annual Battle of the Classes - Friday March 24, 2017

  • Overall Winning Team gets a "Champions" t-shirt, bragging rights, and their picture on the Brookhaven Track Website
  • $10.00 to play or coach on a team
  • 12 players per team (first come first serve) :co-ed(boys & girls together): 1 coach per team
  • Last day to sign up Wednesday March 22, 2017

 

BHS Mascot tryouts will be on Thursday, March 23 at 3:30PM.  Please see Mrs. McLaurin if you are interested to pick up a tryout packet.

 

Prom t-shirt sale extended to Friday 3/24. You must purchase by then.

 

Voter Registration will be going on during lunch today. (3/24/17)

If anyone is interested in donating a used baseball or softball glove to the  Dr. A.L. Lott baseball program we have a donation box in Mr. Martin’s office. These gloves will go to a local child here in our community.

 

Prom tickets sale starts today 3/20 in Mrs. Johnson's office. $15 per ticket OR seniors can pay $20 per ticket which includes 2 parent tickets (Only seniors are eligible for parent tickets). Only juniors/seniors can buy tickets and must tell who their date will be. Prior approval of date is required if the date is below 11th grade or from another school. Letters with prom information and approval forms for dates are available on the BHS website or on the shelf in Mr. Martin’s office.

 

Applications for the Bank of Brookhaven/Brookhaven Technical Center Award of Excellence Scholarship are available in Mrs. Porter’s office located at BTC.  This scholarship application is available to any senior who completed a two year technical program last year-- or who will complete a two year technical program this year.  Applications should be returned to Mrs. Porter by Monday (3-28-17).

 

Students planning on taking an AP exam should talk to your AP teacher and come by and see Mrs. Risher to pay.  Deadline to order all AP exams is March 21.

 

After school detention will be held in room 230 – Mrs. Seals for the remainder of this nine weeks.

 

Juniors who are interested in pre-med are encouraged to apply for the Mississippi State University Rural Medical Scholars summer program.  Students who are accepted will take two college-level pre-med courses at a very limited cost.  In order to apply you must have a minimum composite ACT score of 24.  The completed application packet must be completed by March 20, 2017. Please see your counselor to learn about the application process.  A flyer is also posted at the attendance clerk’s office.

 

FCA meets on Friday mornings at 7:30 in the library. Everyone is welcome to attend.

ACT REMINDERS: Students taking the ACT - reminder to bring the following items:

Your admission ticket with your photo on it

A valid picture ID (cannot be expired)

A calculator

Pencils

 

After parking in the morning you may not hang out in parking lot or in your car. You must come on to campus. Once on campus you may not leave.

 

Reminder: The road between the high school and cemetery is closed during the school day. No traffic or deliveries are to be made through that road.
