BHS Announcements Dec 17-21

BHS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Check other announcements for details concerning specific events.

 

Parents can begin signing out students for the remainder of the week. Checkouts will only be allowed at the end of each block. We don’t want to disturb classes while students are testing. Sign out sheets are at the attendance window. (Exam schedule listed below.)

BHS Football Banquet will be Thursday January 10, 2019 at the FEMA Building. The banquet will begin at 6:30

 

If you are scheduled to take Driver's Ed in January and do not have a license or a permit, see Coach Powell before the break to get the paperwork for a permit.

 

Seniors wanting recognition ads in the yearbook must indicate the size ad they want as soon as possible. Completed ads are due emailed to me with payment completed by the Friday (12/21) before Christmas break. Pick up a size and price sheet from Mrs. Sproles in room 228. 

 

The cost for the cap & gown only is $60. If paid past the December 30th deadline, a late fee of $25 will be applied. Please be aware that only tassels provided by BHS and only BHS and Vo-tech honor chords may be worn at graduation.

 

Band will begin selling pizza slices after school on Wednesdays in December. The cost is $2 per slice and they will have a table set up near the bus area and around back. They will also have candy for sale.

 

 

EXAM SCHEDULE:

Wed 12/19 - 1st and 2nd block during regular times

Thurs 12/20 - 3rd and 4th block during 1st and 2nd block times - then regular schedule

Friday 12/21 - makeups during regular schedule.

       

Full Credit Classes at BHS (Semester long)

A - 4 absences or less and 3 or fewer step 2 in fractions

B  - 3 absences or less and 2 or fewer step 2 infractions

C - 2 absences or less and 1 or fewer step 2 infractions

 

Half Credit Classes at BHS (Term long)

A - 3 absences or less and 3 or fewer step 2 in fractions

B  - 2 absences or less and 2 or fewer step 2 infractions

C - 1 absences or less and 1 or fewer step 2 infractions

 

Reminder: students with no absences in November & October will have a day added to the exemption formula for each of those months that was perfect attendance (Maximum of 2 days). We also will have a prize/treat for those with perfect attendance. The only absences that will not count for this activity are school activities.

 

CLARIFICATION OF ABSENCES: Excused or unexcused still means the student was not in class. Excuses keep you from being reported to the state and getting a court date set due to missing too many days. Excused still count as missed days for exemptions, perfect attendance, and etc.

 

School excused activities are school trips only and do not count towards days missed.

 

BHS students have a Bible Study every Monday morning at 7:40 in the library. Anyone interested may attend.

 

Students hanging out in the morning be sure trash is disposed of properly. Free time before school is a privilege be sure to treat it accordingly.

 

FCA – Fellowship of Christian Athletes meets Friday morning before school in the library. All students are invited. (Not just athletes.)

 

This year's yearbooks are $70 for the remainder of the year. Copies of last year's book are still available for $80. Ordering online at jostensyearbooks.com is available or see Mrs. Sproles Room 228 anytime during 1st block.

ON GOING REMINDERS:

No students are allowed in the building before 7:20

 

Bus lane is a one way street with entry from Monticello St.

 

Student drivers be sure to park and come in the building. You may not hang out in the parking lot.

 

Bus riders must stay on campus once you have arrived.

 

The street between the HS and the cemetery is closed during school hours.

 

Any food brought for a student lunch must be out of the packaging if it contains a business logo.

 

Students should not be leaving the cafeteria with open food and drink containers.  

 

Students leaving campus after 3rd block, walkers have right of way.

 

Bus riders be sure you are at the bus zone and watching for you bus immediately following school.

 

Once a student is checked out (by parent or on permanent checkout out list) you must leave campus immediately.
