GOALS

Our goals are to:

  • Provide access to sources of information, technology, facilities and professional services.
  • Give teachers and students support and instruction in evaluating and using information sources and literature.
  • Provide a collection of literature that reflects human experience, creativity and diversity.
  • Provide a balanced collection of accurate, unbiased factual materials in books, electronic databases and other information formats.
  • Promote reading as a means of gaining facility in the use of the language and in building a general body of knowledge.
  • Partner with teachers in utilizing the MS Curriculum Framework and other educational benchmarks and programs.
This is what Johnlyn Kees has to say about The After Life.

"Everybody has their own thoughts and beliefs on what is after this life.  What will we see or do?  Well, Amy Huntly has her own unique version in her book called The After Life.  In Amy's book the main character, Maddy, has died at the age of 16.  The catch is that she doesn't know how she died or where she is, but in the endless black space there are memories of her life and items she lost during that time.  She also learns as she watches and relives these moments that there were things she couldn't see or understand.  As I read this book, I realized that sometimes it takes a life time to understand some things that life throws at a person.  This book would be great for a person who loves romance and drama.  As you read what happened during Maddy's memories, you would see teen love and friendship and how she grows from watching her life."
