Nov. 10
-Teacher introduces Work Ethics and explains core traits: Attendance & Punctuality, Attitude, Responsibility, Initiative, Teamwork, Communication, Respect, Work Quality
-Discuss: Why do employers value these traits more than technical skills sometimes?
-Complete a T-Chart: Students are given different traits. They are to organize on the T-Chart: What the trait looks like at work and What it does NOT look like.
Nov. 11
-Discuss: Your coworker doesn’t show up to work for the third time this month. How does this affect the workplace?
-Discuss responsibility & dependability and how these connect to trust.
-Students role-play workplace situations (teacher provides scenario cards such as: calling out last minute, arriving early, owning mistakes, etc.).
-Students write what they learned about how behavior affects others.
Nov. 12
-Students list 3 characteristics of a good communicator.
-Discuss verbal, nonverbal, and workplace communication (tone, body language, clarity).
-Discuss: What teamwork roles emerged? How did communication help or hurt?
Nov. 13
-Discuss: Describe the difference between disagreeing respectfully and being disrespectful.
-Discuss how attitude affects workplace, culture, and opportunities for advancement.
- Students read workplace scenarios and decide: Professional or Unprofessional?
-Students will watch a video about work ethics,
Then rewrite the unprofessional behavior to show the correct behavior.
Nov. 14
-Discuss: Which work ethic has been easiest for you this week? Which has been hardest?
What are your strengths? What is one trait you need to improve? What steps will you take to improve it? How will strong work ethics help you in jobs, college, sports, and life?
