-Discuss: What Is the Shared Economy? Have you ever used or shared something instead of buying it? Definition of Shared (Collaborative) Economy. Why it is growing (technology, cost savings, sustainability) Discuss/research examples of Shared Economy: Uber, Airbnb, DoorDash, Turo
Nov. 4
-Students will explain advantages to consumers and providers. –Discuss: Why would someone choose to share instead of own? Have you ever used or shared something instead of buying it? Benefits: Cost savings, flexibility, income opportunities, convenience. -Write one benefit for a user and one for a provider.
Nov. 5
-Students will analyze problems and risks within the shared economy. – Discuss: What can go wrong when strangers share goods and services? Issues: Safety, legal liability, quality control, scams, instability of income. Short scenario about a bad Airbnb or Uber experience.
Nov. 6
-Discuss Major Shared Economy Companies. -Students will identify major companies and what they share. -Match logos (Uber, Lyft, Airbnb, etc.) to company names. -Students research one company and answer:
 What is shared?
 Who benefits?
 What is one risk?
