BHS ANNOUNCEMENTS

• All enrollment packets are Past Due. Be sure to include 2 proofs of residency and handbook forms. Letters are being sent home and you will not be allowed to return without completed enrollment packets. Students who registered with and affidavit must also have their 2 proofs in at this time.

• NEW! Parent system to keep up grades, attendance and discipline. See the announcement regarding “Active Parent” for details on how to sign up.

• Student council all forms are due Sept. 8th. Students interested should stop by room (119) or the library and pick up the student council packet.

• This year we are implementing a prom committee to work along side the student council. The committee will help with prom fundraising and set up. We are asking for teachers to nominate students from the junior class to participate in the committee. Attached is the nomination form. Nominations are due by September 8th.

• We will have a bad weather drill this Thursday (8/31). Current plan is to have during HR time.

• New Club Girl Empowerment Association – GEA – started to help mentor young ladies in the 5th- 8th grades, build leadership skills, and earn community service hours. If you are interested in joining see Mrs. Gayton or Kalisha Durr.

• School Pictures August 31st. Senior retakes will be scheduled for Sept 14th.
•
• Ring Man will give presentation to Juniors Sept 13th approx 11 am. He will return during lunch on Sept 20th to begin taking orders.

• Senior Picture Retakes are scheduled for Thursday, September 14th beginning at 8 am.
•
• MS School Pictures will be here on Thursday, September 14th during lunch to collect money for pictures that have been ordered.

• The BHS Reading Fair will be held on October 26. This is much earlier than usual. Students who are interested can get more information in the library.
•
• Wildlife Expo looking for volunteers. You may use these towards your community service hours. See website for applications and more details. Wednesday, Sept 6th will be the deadline for volunteers.

• REMINDERS:
Student drivers be sure to park and come in the building. You may not hang out in the parking lot.
Bus riders must stay on campus once you have arrived.
The street between the HS and the cemetery is closed during school hours.
Any food brought for a student lunch must be out of the packaging if it contains a business logo.
Students leaving campus after 3rd block, walkers have right of way.

• ACT vouchers have arrived. 11th and 12th grade students interested in receiving a free voucher should check with their counselor to see if they qualify.

• After School Detention will be held upstairs in Ms. Seals in room# 230 from 3:25-3:45.
