                                      The story is about a concentration camp prisoner. Pictures and video clips of the Holocaust will be shown. Students will read, discuss, and answer questions.  Students will research various topics related to the Holocaust. Time permitting, we will view The Diary of Anne Frank and Escape from Sobibor.  We will also view a tour of Auschwitz hosted by Elie Wiesel and Oprah Winfrey.  Students will learn story-related vocabulary, discuss the events and writing elements of the story, and answer study questions. There will be periodic quizzes.

Friday - Bell ringer - due by the end of the class period

            - Vocabulary - Quiz 15; taken in class; virtual students must submit by end of the class period

            - Grammar - Compound Sentence Practice / Figurative Language Review / "Cask of Amontillado"
