Physics Lesson Plans

Welcome to Physics!
This is where I will post virtual learning plans and resources until we get Canvas operational. Please make sure that you have joined the Remind for physics by texting the message @einstein13 to the phone number 81010. I will use this system to communicate with you.

Physics Virtual Learners
Day 1  August 31 (A)/September 1 (B)
1. Make sure that you are in the Remind for Physics virtual learners (instructions above). This is vital for communication!
2. Download/print the notes for Unit 1 - Math and Stuff. Our first unit is a hodgepodge review of various math skills that are needed for physics. Read pages 1-10 in the notes as a review of scientific notation, significant digits, rounding, and unitary conversion. Watch the following videos on these topics:

Day 2  September 2 (A)/ September 3 (B)
1. Download/print Unit 1 Practice 1. You need to complete this practice. Re watch any videos as needed. When you finish, download the free app Adobe Scan on your phone. Use the app to create pdf file of your work and email it to me at [email protected]. Make sure that your name and all of your work shows clearly!

Day 3  September 4 (A)/ September 8 (B)
1. Read pages 11-16 of the notes and use the following links to learn about (or review) the trigonometry of right triangles. You will need a simple scientific calculator for this course (programmable not required). There are many free options to download on your phone.
2. Download/print Unit 1 Practice 2 and complete it. Use Adobe Scan to email me a pdf of your work. Please make sure that your name and all work is clear!

Day 4  September 9 (A)/ September 10 (B)
1. Download/print Unit 1 Practice 3. This practice puts the unitary conversion, trigonometry, and equation solving skill into the context of word problems. Word problems are our thing in physics! You may look up and equations or conversion factors that you need (such as the density formula, the volume of a sphere equation, how many inches equals a meter, etc.). You MUST have all of the work CLEARLY show and the final answer boxed with units.
2. Use Adobe Scan to send me a pdf of your worked problems.
