Week 2 - Virtual Learners - Geometry AND Algebra 2

Canvas is up and running! All work will be done in Canvas from this point forward. 
Once you login and find your class you will notice some of the assignments from last week are still there for you to complete. If you completed them last week... DO NOT complete them again. I have your work and have you marked for completion. I will work on getting those assignments marked completed in Canvas for you. 
 
ATTENDANCE - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!
 
There is a DAILY attendance quiz. You must open the Quiz for each day and answer the ONE question. This is how I will take attendance per the school district's attendance policy. It has to be done DAILY (only during the week)!!!!

Algebra 2 - Week 1 For Virtual Learners

 
For Google Docs - make a copy, edit the copy you made, and then submit back by email. :)
 
All other pages - you can print them, work on the paper, and scan back to  my email. If you have software on your computer that allows you to edit documents online then you are certainly allowed to do that. 
 
All assignments should be submitted to Mrs. Killen at [email protected] 
 
Make sure you are putting your name and the name of the assignment in the subject of each email.
 
Watch the videos provided and use Khan Academy if you need additional help. 
 
You do not have to submit an assignment each day. Remember with the Hybrid students I am teaching one day and they begin their assignment in class and finish it the day they are at home. 
 
Please  do not hesitate to contact me with any questions your may have.

You can print the worksheet, work the problems, and then scan to my email or if you have online editing capabilities then you are able to work them on the computer and submit to me.

New Material Starting April 6

The second set of work is posted for both Algebra 2 and Geometry on the website. Packet pick up will be available Monday and Tuesday from 11-1 again at BHS. Just drive through the bus lane and have your list of classes ready... not teachers just classes. If you are sending someone to pick up please tell them your classes. It helps to move the lines. There are some handwritten notes in the packets from my student teacher that did not copy very well. They are ALL online listed under each class. You do not have to have the notes if you are watching the videos. She just provided her notes for you. Please message me with any questions you may have during this time! I miss you all!

Monday - The Polygon Angle Sum Theorems - Check and go over bell work. The teacher will work examples on the board. The students will work problems 8-24 even on page 356. We will go over these together.

Tuesday - First Nine Weeks Exam
 
Wednesday - Sums, Differences, and Scalar Multiplication of Matrices   Work examples on the board. Work practice problems in class together. The students will complete a practice worksheet on matrices in class. After the students complete the practice worksheet, we will go over it together. Homework will be assigned.
Assignment: Homework - pages 221 and 222, old textbook, #s 12-40 even 
 
Thursday - Multiply Matrices   Check and go over the bell work and homework problems. Work examples on the board. Work practice problems in class together. The students will complete a worksheet on multiplying matrices in class. After the students complete the practice worksheet, we will go over it together. Homework will be assigned. 
Assignment: Homework - pages 229 and 230, old textbook, #s 7-19
 
Friday - Multiply Matrices, Find the Determinant of a Matrix   Check and go over the bell work and homework problems. Work examples on the board on how to find the determinant of a matrix. Work practice problems in class together. The students will be given some problems to work in class that involve multiplying matrices and finding the determinant of a 2x2 and 3x3 matrix. After the students complete the problems, we will go over them together. Homework will be assigned.

Week 9 03/02 - 03/06 - Geometry

Monday - Review area and circumference of circles.
 
Tuesday - Students will complete 1 - 20 of study guide for exam. We will go over this when they are finished.
 
Wendesday - Students will complete 21 - 40 of study guide for exam. We will go over this when they are finished.
 
Thursday -Students will take nine weeks exam. 
 
Friday - Students will complete an ACT prep worksheet. We will go over whent they are complete. 

Week 9 03/02 - 03/06 - Algebra 2

Monday - Review exponents, inequalities, equations, and literal equations to prepare for nine weeks exams. 
 
Tuesday - Review order of operations, systems of equations, and linear equation for nine weeks exams.
 
Wednesday - Students will complete 1-20 on study guide for exam. We will go over once they are finished.
 
Thursday - Students will complete 21 - 40 on study guide for exam. We will go over once they are finished. 
 
Friday - Students will take first nine weeks exam. 

Week 8 02/24 - 02/28 - Algebra 2

Monday - Solve systems of equations by Elimination   Check and go over the bell work and homework problems. Work examples on the board on how to use the elimination method. Work practice problems in class together. The students will work the problems on page 169, old textbook, #s 9-25 odd in  class. After the students complete the problems, we will go over them together. Homework will be assigned.
Assignment: Homework - page 169, old textbook, #s 10-26 even
 
Tuesday - Solve Systems of Equations by Graphing, Substitution, and Elimination   Check and go over the bell work and homework problems. The students will complete a worksheet on solving systems of equations. After  the students complete the worksheet, we will go over it together. Homework will be assigned.
Assignment: Homework - pages 204 and 205, old textbook, #s 2-20 even
 
Wednesday - Continue Systems of Equations   Check and go over the bell work and the homework problems. Give the students the review sheet to work on in class. Teacher will assist students as necessary. Homework - complete the review sheet and review your notes for the test.
Assignment: Homework - complete the review sheet for the test on systems of equations
 
Thursday - Test on Systems of Equations   Check the review sheet for a homework grade. Go over the review sheet with the students before the test. After reviewing, the students will take the test.
Assignment: Homework - none
 
Friday - Art in Algebra - Check bell work. Students will make up any missing assignments from the nine weeks. Students will complete an art in Algebra project. 
Homework - No homework. 

Week 8 02/24 - 02/28 - Geometry

Monday - Mid segments and Bisectors - Check bell work and homework - The teacher will review mid segments and bisectors of triangles. The students will complete problems in class. We will review those together. 
Homework - Complete and questions from classwork. 
 
Tuesday - Review - Check and go over bell work and homework. The students will take a vocabulary quiz. The students will work a review for the test. The teacher will assist as needed. We will go over the answers together.
Homework - Study for Chapter test
 
Wednesday - Test - Check and go over bell work.  The teacher will provide a quick review for the test. The students will complete the chapter 5 test. After completing the test the students will begin working on the review for the nine weeks exam.

Thursday - Perimeter and Area - Check and go over bell work. The teacher will work problems with the students on perimeter and area with the students. The students will work problems independently. We will go over these together to check for understanding.

Monday - Review -  Check and go over bell work and homework. The students will take the vocabulary quiz. After completing the quiz the students will work on a review for the Chapter 4 test. The teacher will assist as needed. We will go over this once everyone has completed the review.

Tuesday - Test - Check and go over bell work. The teacher will review the students before the test. The students will take the Chapter 4 test. After completing the test the students will work on the vocabulary terms for Chapter 5.

Tuesday - Review Functions   Check and go over the bell work and homework problems. The students will get the review sheet to work on in class. The students will work the review problems on the board and explain how they got their answers. The teacher will evaluate the students with oral questions and responses. If the students do not complete the review sheet, they will complete it for homework.

Wednesday - Test on Functions   Check and go over the review sheet with the students before the test. After reviewing, the students will take the test.

After the students complete the problems, we will go over them together. Homework will be assigned.

Week 6 02/10 - 02/14 - Algebra 2

 Monday - Properties of Exponents   Check and go over the bell work and homework. Give the students the review sheet to work on in class. The students can work on the review sheet individually or pair up with another student. The teacher will assist as needed.
Assignment: Homework - complete the review sheet for the test on exponents
 
Tuesday -  Properties of Exponents   Review and test on the properties of exponents. Check and go over the review sheet before the test. After reviewing, the students will take the test.

Wednesday - Introduction to Functions   Go over the bell work and then go over examples on the board about functions. Work practice problems together in class. The students will work the problems on page 107, old textbook, #s 1-13 in class. After the students complete the problems, we will go over them together. Homework will be assigned.

Thursday - Operations with Functions   Check and go over the bell work and homework. Go over examples on the board. Work practice problems in class together in class.
