Monday 5/7/18

  • Algebra I state test today. Most students will be taking it.  Teacher is a test administrator.  Schedule and room appointments for students who are not testing are as follows: 2nd block Mrs. White (by buses), 3rd block Coach Walker (room 601 building with band hall).
  • After 12 o’clock when testing is done students are to report to Mrs. Lilly’s room with Mr. Furr.
  • TSW work on scientific news article and crossword

Tuesday 5/8/18

Same schedule as Monday.  Students will be taking part two of the Algebra I state test.

Wednesday 5/9/18

  • TSW get a bell ringer and look at the grades form their learning menus.
  • TSW complete an anonymous class evaluation.
  • TTW go over the lecture notes on Ecology 3. TSW follow along taking notes on notebook paper.
  • TSW watch a short video on succession and complete a succession timeline sheet.

Thursday 5/10/18

  • TSW do their bell ringers.
  • TSW watch a video on the biochemical cycles.
  • TSW use their books to complete an activity on the biochemical cycles.

Friday 5/11/18

  • TSW do their bell ringers and then pass them up to the front of the row to be turned in.
  • TSW work on biochemical cycles worksheets.
  • TSW work on drawing and describing the biochemical processes. .
  • TTW start the notes on the biomes with the students.
  • TSW will follow along taking notes in their note skeleton.

Week of 4/30→5/4

Monday 4/30

TTW: Provide students with a rubric for their learning menus and task them to read them.  Go over the rubric with the students as they look at the overhead with the instructor.  Instruct students to finish their main course that they had started on Friday of last week after this they will start their side dishes.  Be walking around helping students get started and staying on track.

TSW: Read over the grading rubric.  Listen and pay attention to the instructor as he goes over the rubrics and again the learning menu.  Finish part two and three of their main course alone.  Start their side dishes.

Tuesday 5/1

TTW: Start the students out with a riddle for the bell ringer “What can you hold without using your hands?”  Re-explain the activities and continue to walk around probing students.  Help students and give examples on how to get started with their activities.

TSW: Do their bell ringer and correct them if the needed when the instructor goes over it.  Finish picking their side dishes and start/continue working on them.  Ask the instructor for guidance or if they are stuck on a certain aspect of their activities.

Wednesday 5/2

TTW: Provide the students with a bell ringer “Find the section on invertebrates in the green and white workbook.  List and give an example of each taxon.”  Continue to guide students through completion of their learning menus.

TSW: Do their bell ringer and correct them if needed when the instructor goes over it.  Continue to work on their learning menus.

Thursday 5/3

TTW: Provide the students with a bell ringer “Find the section on plants and list the different divisions of plants.  Give an example of organisms in each division.”  Go over were each student will need to report on Monday and Tuesday for their Algebra I state test.  Get with each student on where they currently are on completing their learning menu and create a plan with them to get through before the end of the day.  Be walking around helping students get finished with their side dishes.

TSW:  Do their bell ringer.  Listen as the teacher goes over where they need to report.  Listen and make a plan to get finished with their side dishes today.  Finish their side dishes.

Friday 5/4

TTW: Present the students with a bell ringer “Find the information about Protista.  Give three characteristic about Protista that are unique to the kingdom.”  Tell the students who need to present their side dishes the order they will be in today.  Inform the students about their listening activity they will need to complete as students present their lecture or classification rap.  Inform the students to participate fully in the classification games created by their peers.  Present students with additional work on the crossword “Ecosystems and Energy Flow” and work on sec. 19 from the green and white workbook.

TSW: Do their bell ringers.  Present their side dishes and do their active listening activities when needed.  Do the games created by their classmates.  Start their work on Ecology.  Do crossword “Ecosystems and Energy Flow” and work on sec. 19 in their green and white workbook.

Tuesday 4/17/18

  • TSW take the Biology 1 state test.
  • TSW watch videos and complete questions associated with them.
  • TSW finish their SATP 2 review if they are not finished

Wednesday 4/18/18

  • TSW finish the videos on scientist and genetic diseases if needed.
  • TSW will complete a structure lab by themselves or in small groups. TTW walk around and help students when needed.

Thursday 4/19/18

  • US History state test. The teacher will be proctoring. Students will have another teacher in the room.
  • Students will work on assigned problems from their green and white workbook.
  1. Page 273-287 Do not start review before completing these sections.
  2. Page 295-310 Do not start review before completing these sections.
  • Once finished students will take a quiz from the review section of the workbook.
  1. Page 291 is where it starts student will need to fill out a zip grade sheet.
  2. Page 312 is where it starts students will need to fill out a zip grade sheet.
  • Students must get through at least activity number 1 (pages and quiz) by the end of the day.

Friday 4/20/18

  • Students may finish up activity two from yesterday in groups (40 minutes).
  • TTW start the lecture on classification and the students will follow along taking notes on notebook paper.
  • TSW work on completing a dichotomous key activity.

  • Bell ringer 21-30 from practice state test. Give choice and reason. TTW go over the importance of written down what you are thinking “I picked this question because”. Students will need to focus on listening and correcting their answers plus reasoning.
  • TSW finish working on their projects form last week.
  • TSW start working on a content review before the state test.
  • TSW work with the teacher to get their pictures ready for presenting on tomorrow.

Tuesday 4/10/18

  • Bell ringer 31-40 from practice state test. Give choice and reason.
  • TSW present their projects on their scientist (test grade).
  • TSW be listening to their classmates and fill out a paper listing 3 new things they learned from each group and one thing they want to know more about (part of test grade).

Wednesday 4/11/18

  • Bell ringer 41-50 from practice state test. Give choice and reason.
  • TSW finish presenting projects if they are not finished.
  • TSW continue to work on their review of content for the state test (worth 2 daily grades).

Thursday 4/12/18

  • Bell ringer 51-60 from practice state test. Give choice and reason.
  • TSW take a short quiz on SATP review questions (daily grade).
  • TSW continue working on their review of content for the state test (worth 2 daily grades).

Friday 4/13/18

  • Bell ringer 61-70 from practice state test. Give choice and reason. Students will turn them in today. TTW talk about the importance of going to bed on time or early and eating a good breakfast before their state test.
  • TTW go over the short quiz of SATP review question with the students.
  • TSW finish working on their review of content for the state test (worth 2 daily grades).

DAY 1

TSW walk in the room and get a bell ringer template. TSW put their cell phones in the cell phone parking lot. TTW go over the bell ringer.

 

*Students who were absent Friday will take their exam (TTW review with them shortly).

 

*Students who took their exam on Friday will begin their review for the 9 weeks midterm. TSW use their notes and workbook pages to find answers. Students will work alone today on pages 1 and 2. TTW answer questions for individual students when needed.

DAY 2

10-15 minutes: TSW walk in the room and put their cell phone in the cell phone parking lot. TSW start the bell ringer. TTW go over the bell ringer.

 

30-45 minutes: TSW start working on their review guide pages 3 and 4. TSW use their old notes, workbook pages, and the textbook as needed. TSW do this in assigned groups (using name tags).

*TTW be walking around discussing with the groups and helping them find questions/going over rationale.

*the rest on the time spent will be given to going over correct answers to the review questions if needed and starting page 5 of the review.

Homework: Page 3 and 4

DAY 3

10-15 minutes TSW walk in the room and put their cell phones in the cell phone parking lot. TSW start working on their bell ringer. TTW go over the bell ringer.

 

30-45 minutes: TSW finish going over their review guide page 5 in the same manner as the day before.

TTW spend time going over review questions and answers with the students.

 

*Once finished TSW compete on Kahoot to further their review.

Friday Day 1

  1. TSW come in the door and put their cell phones in the parking lot. TSW get out a clean sheet of paper and do the bell ringer (How was your holidays? Tell me a little bit about what you did. If they are a new student then, tell me a little bit about yourself as well.).
  2. Students will be put into a seating chart.
  3. TTW quickly go over the classroom rules, class introduction, and needed materials.
  4. TTW pass out SATP 2 books to every student.
  5. TTW go over the sample questions on the review guide page 8 with the students.
  6. TSW begin to work on the review guide using their own sheet of paper to mark the answers.
  7. TTW get new students a number for a book and the cell phone parking lot.
