Physical Education Lesson Plan

Standard/Objectives:

1PE2a - Identify body parts and movement of body parts during performance of motor skills.

1 PE2b- Identify and apply fundamental locomotor and nonlocomotor skills

1PE2d- Recognize that appropriate practice improves performance

1PE5a- Apply rules, procedures, and safety practices with little reinforcement from teacher.

1PE5b-Demonstrate the proper respect for equipment and supplies

1PE5d- Respect the physical and performance differences of others.

 

Students will:

  • bring the proper attire to PE and change clothing daily.  Students who do not bring changing clothing, however, they partcipipate will receive a grade not higher than a 70 daily grade.  Full participation which include changing attire and participation during class will earn a 100 daily grade.
  • identify their muscular body parts and participate in a 25 minutes stretching routine that also consist of plyometric exercises.
  • participate in a 20 minutes walk or jog activity daily.  (Monitor heart rate increase and deecrease.  Also identify the areas and ways to monitor their pulse.
  • Students will participate in the daily activity, without complaint, for the duration of the time allowed.
  • Feedback will be encouraged from students to assure they are understanding the purpose of physical activity and how it promotes a healthy lifestyle.
  • Students will particpate in team buiding and cooperation activities to encourage them to work together.

Students are encouraged to talk with family members about the benefits of physical activities and how it promotes a healthy life style.

Students will have the opportunity to learn and demonstrate CPR and first aid procedures.
