AP US History is a semester long, full credit Social Studies course.  Students may elect to take AP US History instead of US History or following US History. Students are required to take the US History Subject Area Test in order to graduate. Students can elect to take the AP US History Exam. If students pass the AP US History Exam, they can receive college credit for a history course from the college or university he/she will attend.

AP US History is different from US History in that it covers the entire history of the United States from pre-Columbian to the present.  US History begins at Reconstruction.  AP US History covers material much faster.  Students should be willing to read, research, study more on their own time.

Below is a link to our schedule of topics.  These are the topics we will cover and when we need to cover them in order to have enough time to discuss all potential topics that may appear on either comprehensive exam. Test dates are included in schedule.

Rules and regulations are also attached below. We must stay on schedule.  Attendance is vitally important. Tests will be taken on the scheduled dates, even if the student is not present the day before the test. Students are responsible for getting any and all work they have missed.  Students are responsible for being prepared.

After the Subject Area test, students will work on a variety of projects and assignments and watch a few movies that we lack the time for prior to the test.
