BHS Announcement - Regarding Closing

Good morning,

Obviously this is a unique and fluid situation that is new to all of us. Please be patient and understand we have your students safety at the heart of all the decisions being made.

At this time BHS will be closed March16-20. Decisions will be made week to week on when re-open and may possible be out of our hands due to federal and/or state requirements. We are discussing options for all academic issues but a lot depends on what we are allowed to do.

The district is taking steps to clean and disinfect the campuses and buses before students return and making plans for on-going procedures once students do return. At this time the best thing you can do is follow the Center for Disease Control guidelines on hand washing and avoiding close contact with others. Please follow the Brookhaven School District on Facebook for current updates.

Thank you for your continued patience and support,

David Martin, Principal

CDC recommendations for hand washing:

Clean your hands often

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
