Congratulations to Jeffery Johnson – Jeffery has received scholarship offers from Florida State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and USM.

 

Congratulations - Tennijah Smith placed Third in the Job Interview Competition at the 2017 Educators Rising Competition in Jackson, Mississippi.

 

Congratulations to Meredith Bozeman who showed the most improvement on the ACT jumpstart pilot program. Second place was a three way tie – Jon Thames, Logan Smith, and Sabrina Allen all had the same exact improvement. Congratulations to each of you. Please stop by the office for your rewards.

 

Congratulations to Seniors Kenneth Bellamy and Cristina Craig they were recognized at the Lion’s Club luncheon for their outstanding accomplishments.

Students planning on taking an AP exam should talk to your AP teacher and come by and see Mrs. Risher to pay.  Deadline to order all AP exams is March 21.

 

After school detention will be held in room 230 – Mrs. Seals for the remainder of this nine weeks.

 

MSA will have their annual Black History Month Production Friday – 2/10 – in Enochs Bldg at 7 pm.

 

Seniors ... you can buy an ad in the yearbook. Ads MUST be paid for and emailed as a jpeg BY FEB. 10th. Detailed information on purchasing ads is now available in the front attendance office and the library. For a few more weeks yearbooks can still be ordered. Cost is $60 and order forms are also available at the front office and library.

 

The ASVAB Career Exploration Program will be given on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Brookhaven Technical Center.

 

Juniors who are interested in pre-med are encouraged to apply for the Mississippi State University Rural Medical Scholars summer program.  Students who are accepted will take two college-level pre-med courses at a very limited cost.  In order to apply you must have a minimum composite ACT score of 24.  The completed application packet must be completed by March 20, 2017. Please see your counselor to learn about the application process.  A flyer is also posted at the attendance clerk’s office.

 

 

FCA meets on Friday mornings at 7:30 in the library. Everyone is welcome to attend.

ACT REMINDERS: Students taking the ACT - reminder to bring the following items:

Your admission ticket with your photo on it

A valid picture ID (cannot be expired)

A calculator

Pencils

 

After parking in the morning you may not hang out in parking lot or in your car. You must come on to campus. Once on campus you may not leave.

 

Reminder: The road between the high school and cemetery is closed during the school day. No traffic or deliveries are to be made through that road.
