EXAM SCHEDULES:

MSA will take both block's exams tomorrow (5/16) and complete.

 

Senior Exams

May 15th - Reg Schedule- 1st and 3rd

 

May 16th  - 2nd at 8 am and 4th during regular time

May 17th and 18th Makeups

 

Reg Exams - Report to first block for all exams given at 8 am

May 16th - 2nd Exam then 1st, 3rd, 4th block

May 17th - 1st Exam then reg schedule

May 18th-3rd Exam then reg schedule

May 19th - Study Day - Graduation

May 22nd - 4th then regular schedule

May 23rd Makeups 60% day

 

Course selection forms will be going home with our 9th-11th graders this Tuesday, May 16th. Please fill these out and return to your counselor this week. Students may turn them in.

 

Anyone interested in trying out for student choreographer for the homecoming production needs to see Ms. Vinson today (Wednesday, May 17th).

 

Anyone interested in playing football next year needs to meet at the fieldhouse after school on Tuesday, May 16th.

 

If students pre-ordered a yearbook they can pickup today in the library(Tuesday, May 16th). EXTRA YEARBOOKS WILL BE SOLD LATER THIS WEEK, WE WILL ANNOUNCE WHEN EXTRAS MAY BE BOUGHT.

 

SENIORS! - Be sure to see the detailed announcement on the website regarding graduation practice and graduation ceremony times and rules (dress code).

Graduation Practice – Thursday, May 18 – 5:00 pm – Auditorium - Don’t Be  Late. “Attendance at graduation practice is required” – BSD Handbook, page 22. Tickets will be passed out Thursday night, in case of rain, you must get them before you leave practice. 

Graduation Day – Friday, May 19 – 5:00 pm – be in your seat in the auditorium – Don’t be late. Ceremony begins at 7pm.

 

Any family that brings

 

All track team members need to return to Mrs. Pounds in the assistant principal’s office by Wednesday, May 17th.

 

We may offer Driver’s Education classes this summer if there is enough interest. Classes would be offered May 30th- June 29th. You must meet minimum class and driving times. Course cost will be $170 and will be limited to the first 15 students to pay. (Must have 12 students sign up to offer the class.) If you are interested there is a sign up sheet in Mr. Martin’s office. First students to pay will have a spot reserved. You must have a driver’s permit in order to participate.

 

March of Dimes donations. Each 1st block class is asked to collect change for the March of Dime foundation. These funds go to helping with women’s and babies health research and needs. 

 

Juniors and Sophomores: If you are interested in taking a Dual Credit course in the fall here at Brookhaven High, please come by the guidance Center and fill out an application and talk to your counselor.

 

Tryouts are scheduled for May 15th-19th for any students wishing to tryout for high school boys’ basketball team. All participants should have a current physical. Tryouts will take place between 3:45 and 5:30 each day. Participants should bring their own shoes and shorts.

 

Slowpitch try outs will be May 15th at 3:30 at the Ole Brook Softball Field.

Fastpitch try outs will be May 16th at 3:30 at the Ole Brook Softball Field.

Callbacks for Slowpitch and Fastpitch will be May 17th at 3:30 at the Ole Brook Softball Field.

 

All girls trying out must have a current physical. All girls trying out need to bring a glove, wear shorts, and wear tennis shoes or cleats.

Anyone interested in trying out needs to sign up in Coach Vinson's room-229.

 

BHS Baseball tryouts for 2017-2018 will be Wednesday and Thursday, May 24th & 25th from 4-6pm at Moyer field. All players must have an up to date physical on file. ALL players must tryout. This is for the upcoming 9th-12th grades

 

Choir Concert Tuesday, May 16th @ 6 pm in the BHS auditorium.

 

Track Banquet will be Monday, May 15th at 7 pm @ the FEMA bldg. – Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the assistant principal’s office.

 

Tennis Banquet Monday, May 15th.

 

Baseball Banquet Tuesday, May 16th.

 

Proud of our Junior Panthers! – This year’s state required Junior ACT tests had great results.

Top 50% have an avg. ACT score of 21.885

Top 25% have an avg. ACT score of 24.442

Top 10% have an avg. ACT score of 27.235

Top 5% have an avg. ACT score of 29.375

4 individual students scored 30+ on their ACT

 

Kiss a Senior Goodbye fundraiser is happening now. Purchase a paper shaped like a kiss for $1 from any Student Council member. Write a school appropriate message to any senior to hang in the hallway in the main building. These will be given to seniors in May.

 

After school detention will be held in room 230 – Mrs. Seals for the remainder of this nine weeks.

 

FCA meets on Friday mornings at 7:30 in the library. Everyone is welcome to attend.

ACT REMINDERS: Students taking the ACT - reminder to bring the following items:

Your admission ticket with your photo on it

A valid picture ID (cannot be expired)

A calculator

Pencils

 

After parking in the morning you may not hang out in parking lot or in your car. You must come on to campus. Once on campus you may not leave.

 

Reminder: The road between the high school and cemetery is closed during the school day. No traffic or deliveries are to be made through that road.
