BHS ANNOUNCEMENTS

• The homecoming cast will meet in the auditorium during homeroom today (8/21).
•
• National Honor Society will meet Thursday at 7:15 AM in the auditorium
•
• It is dangerous to look directly at the sun. Looking at the sun can cause permanent damage that may not be noticeable for several days or weeks.
•
• The BHS Reading Fair will be held on October 26. This is much earlier than usual. Students who are interested can get more information in the library.
•
• Wednesday 8/16 is the last day for students to eat on last year's free or reduced meal status. Students will need an approved free and reduced lunch application on file or money beginning Thursday 8/17 morning. We will be sending out another letter tomorrow 8/15 specifically to these students that were free or reduced last year but have not turned in an application this year. BHS has 124 students that were free last year and 22reduced but have not turned in application for this year.

• Wildlife Expo looking for volunteers. You may use these towards your community service hours. See website for applications and more details.

• REMINDERS:
Student drivers be sure to park and come in the building. You may not hang out in the parking lot.
Bus riders must stay on campus once you have arrived.
The street between the HS and the cemetery is closed during school hours.
Any food brought for a student lunch must be out of the packaging if it contains a business logo.
Students leaving campus after 3rd block, walkers have right of way.

• Anyone interested in trying out to speak in the homecoming production needs to pick up a form from Coach Vinson.
•
• ACT vouchers have arrived. 11th and 12th grade students interested in receiving a free voucher should check with their counselor to see if they qualify.
•
• After School Detention will be held upstairs in Ms. Seals in room# 230 from 3:25-3:45.
•
• No students are allowed in the building before 7:20
•
• All enrollment packets are due this Friday, August 11th. Be sure to include 2 proofs of residency and handbook forms.

• School Pictures August 31st. Senior retakes will be scheduled for another date.
•
• Ring Man will give presentation to Juniors Sept 13th approx 11 am. He will return during lunch on Sept 20th to begin taking orders.
