Prom Letter

It is prom season again and we hope that this year’s prom will be wonderful for all that attend. In order for this to happen we need the support of all students, parents, faculty, and staff. The details of prom are listed below:

  • Date & Time: Friday, April 19th : 8 p.m. -11:30 p.m.
  • Place: Brookhaven Building – (F.E.M.A. Building) – Beltline Dr
  • Theme: Mardi Gras
  • Price: Juniors- $15.00 – No Parent Tickets

                          Seniors- Option 1: $15.00- No Parent Tickets

                                           Option 2: $20.00- 2 Parent Tickets

  • Tickets: All tickets MUST be purchased BEFORE 3:15 on Thursday, April 18th . NO tickets will be sold after this time. You will NOT be allowed to purchase tickets at the door.
  • Senior Presentation: 9:00 p.m. Parents/guardians are invited to attend the senior walk only. Each senior that purchases ticket option 2 will be issued 2 parent tickets. Parents/Guardians will enter through the designated parent doorway. Only parents/guardians will be admitted if they have a ticket. Brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, etc. will not be allowed to enter under any circumstances.  Parents may arrive for the presentation at 8:45 p.m.  All parents will be required to leave immediately following the senior walk.
  • Senior favors: Senior Prom favors will be given out at 11:00 p.m. If your child leaves before then, he/she will not receive a favor. We are encouraging the students to stay and enjoy their senior prom.
  • Prom King and Queen: Students will vote on Prom King and Queen prior to prom night. The winners will be announced at 10:40 p.m.
  • Dress: The Junior/Senior Prom is a formal affair. All students must dress formally to attend this function. Jeans are not permitted. Males must wear a tuxedo, suit or coat and tie. Female students may wear two-piece dresses, providing that the tops are not too low in the front, or too short in length at the waist, and the skirts are not too low on the hips, no navel shall be visible and midriff shall not expose more than 3-4 inches. If there is a question regarding proper dress the student needs to bring a picture of themselves in the attire to an administrator for approval by April 5th.
  • Dates: Dates must be in grades 9-12 or no older than 20 years of age. If your escort is not in school, the escort must meet with Mr. Martin for approval. If the escort is not a BHS student, they must have a picture ID to attend prom along with a signed approval note from their school’s principal.
  • All Brookhaven School District rules and discipline policies will be in effect!
