Description
World Literature and English II  are required core classes that expose students to global culture, ideas, events, and authors. These texts and ideas will be utilized to prepare students to think and write critically. The courses will be taught simultaneously, so students will be reading and responding orally and in writing to a variety of world literary and academic texts throughout the entire year.  Students will practice the writing process through pre-writing, structuring, detailing, editing and refining essays and other written responses, creating clear, coherent, well-structured sentences and paragraphs on academic subjects.

Sophomore year is the year that students are MAP tested for graduation, and the activities and texts covered during this course will help students to prepare for this test.
