BHS ANNOUNCEMENTS  1/4-6/2017

 

After school detention will be held in room 230 – Mrs. Seals for the remainder of this nine weeks.

 

Lincoln Co  Extension Service – will hold an interest meeting for forming a 4 –H robotics club. Meeting will be – Thursday, January 12th @ 6 pm at the Government Complex room 201.

 

Golf sign up sheet is located outside of the office. The deadline to sign up in Jan 13th. Tryouts will be Jan 26th and 27th. You must have a physical on file to try out. See Coach Powell if you have any questions.  

 

Anyone who is interested in trying out for the BHS tennis team must pick up a tryout form in the assistant principal's office.  You must have a physical on file before you will be allowed to try out.  Turn in completed forms to assistant principal's office by Friday, Jan. 20.   Tryouts will be held at  Brookhill Tennis Center Jan. 23 and 24 at 3:45.

 

BHS varsity cheer tryouts will be held on January, 28. Anyone that is interested in trying out for the BHS varsity cheerleading squad needs to pick up a registration packet from the office. The application must be completed and returned to Mrs. McLaurin by 3:00PM on Tuesday, January 19.

 

Mr. Tally will be here Wednesday January 11 during lunch to take the last order for this year's graduating class.  ALL SENIORS must order a cap and gown at this time. 

 

FASFA for Seniors – FASFA is a free application for federal student aid. You can get free assistance with your FASFA here on January 18th. You must sign up for an appointment w/ Mrs. Risher.

 

Leah Greer, the recuiter from Co-Lin, will be here January 25 to meet with every senior who is interested in attending Co-lin in the fall.  She will have applications, scholarship information, and housing information with her.  Students will only be seen if they sign up.  All seniors wishing to talk to Leah on the 25th, please come by the guidance to sign up by the 24th.

 

Any girls interested in participating in the 2nd Annual Brookhaven School District Pageant need to pick up a registration packet from Coach Vinson or Coach Case.  The pageant will be in the auditorium February 4th.  There will be a mandatory practice February 3rd.  Registration forms and money are due by January 27th. 

 

Princess Ball will be Saturday, February 4th at Co-Lin for any young ladies (ages 4-15) and their fathers. There are two times to attend 5:30-7:30 and 8-10. Tickets are $30 per couple and $10 for each additional young lady. For more information visit

SENIORS -- you can bring your baby photo for inclusion in the yearbook to the library until NEXT FRIDAY. Write your name on the back. They will be returned to you in a couple of months. Seniors call also submit a QUOTE (appropriate wording or it may be left out) and seniors can also write their Last Will and Testament thoughts. These can be submitted in the front attendance office also by NEXT FRIDAY.

 

Yearbooks are on sale until February. They are $60 and forms are at the front office window, front desk in the library or orders can be completed online at jostensyearbooks.com

FCA meets on Friday mornings at 7:30 in the library. Everyone is welcome to attend.

 

ACT and SAT test and registration dates are listed on the BHS website under highlights.

ACT REMINDERS: Students taking the ACT - reminder to bring the following items:

Your admission ticket with your photo on it

A valid picture ID (cannot be expired)

A calculator

Pencils

 

After parking in the morning you may not hang out in parking lot or in your car. You must come on to campus. Once on campus you may not leave.

 

Reminder: The road between the high school and cemetery is closed during the school day. No traffic or deliveries are to be made through that road.
