Monday - Teacher out for funeral

 

Tuesday - Find values of expressions using the order of operations and simplify expressions.   Check and go over the bell work and homework. Give the students the review sheet to work on in class. The students can work on the review sheet individually or pair up with another student. The teacher will assist students as necessary.
Assignment: Classwork/Homework - complete the review sheet for the test tomorrow

 

Wednesday - Review and take the test on simplifying expressions and the order of operations.   Check the review sheet for a homework grade. Go over the review sheet with the students before the test. After reviewing, the students will take the test.

Thursday - Properties of Exponents   Check and go over the bell work. The teacher will go over examples on the board on how to multiply monomials. The teacher and students will work practice problems together in class. Classwork/Homework - practice worksheet 5-1
Assignment: Homework - page 213, old textbook, #s 20-40 even 

Friday -  Properties of Exponents   Check and go over the bell work and homework. The teacher will go over examples on the board on how to divide monomials, zero exponent property, and the negative exponent property. The teacher and students will work practice problems together in class. The students will complete worksheet 5-2 in class. After the students complete the practice worksheet, we will go over it together.
