Students taking Botany will be required to complete a leaf collection as a major portion of their grade for the course. This year we will be doing this by taking pictures with our devices and submitting a google or PowerPoint slide presentation.  A copy of the directions will be attached below.
 

 

August 11:  Go over graded test, perform microscopy lab
August 12:  Notes on classification of plants
August 13:  Discuss dichotomous keys; take notes on bryophytes
August 14:  Pamishan activity; watch video on moss life cycles; take notes on ferns and their kin
August 15: Bryophytes and Ferns Lab; study guide and worksheets
August 18: watch fern life cycle video; go over study guide
August 19:  test on classification and lower plants
August 20:  Take notes of vascular plants (gymnosperms) watch secret life of pines video
August 21:  gymnosperm classification lab; do worksheet
August 22:  take notes on angiosperms; watch video; begin study guide
August 25:   Go over study guide
August 26:  test on vascular plants

August 28:  Test on gymno angio; continue notes on tissues

August 29:  Finish notes and work on questions and color tissues color sheets; hand out study guides 

September 2: Lab on tissues; work on worksheets and study guide

September 3:  Go over study guide; begin next unit on organs -Go over roots notes

September 4: Tissues test; continue notes with stems

September 5: Finish notes, work on study guide

September 8:  Lab on roots and stems, go over study guide answers

September 9:  Test on Roots and stems; begin notes on Leaves

September 10:  Finish notes on leaves; do leaves daily work

September 11: Notes on Flowers; assign worksheet on flowers

September 12:  Lab on Leaves and flowers; assign study guide

September15:  Go over completed study guides; watch video on plants

September 16:  Test on Leaves and Flowers

September 17:  Begin notes on water in plants
